3 months to go

Still three months to go but returning to our beloved Bequia is in our sights. For anyone who hasn't heard of this lovely place it's in the chain of islands belonging to St Vincent and the Grenadines, 100 miles west of Barbados. Bequia is about 7 miles long and 3 miles wide, no high rise hotels or main stream shops, no night clubs although you might come across the odd 'jump up' one evening on the beach, but we love it for just that. It's the kind of place where you just amble about, chatting to locals about how to make soup from the spinach looking vegetable known as callaloo you've just bought in the market, nestled into an Adirondack chair at the Frangipani watching the sunset with rum punch or cold beer in hand. If we've had a particularly strenuous day we might have been for a dive or snorkel, a boat trip to another island,a visit to see the rescued turtles or a sunbathe on one of the gorgeous beaches, only to return to our deck with a view at the end of the day to more of the quiet life where going to bed at 9pm is the norm. Roll on July.
